Body Control/Exterior Lighting Module Software Engineer and Integrator


  • Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively.  The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.
  • This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week.

General Purpose of Position

  • Design, Development & Testing of Automotive Product Software (GM’s in-house Software) to support the implementation of new features & enhancement of existing features  
  • Integration and Build of Body Control Module Software for both Development & Production Software Releases

Major Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Develop and modify Vehicle Control Systems
  • Create, Define and Document Requirements, Behavioral Models (in Matlab/Simulink, Rhapsody, etc.) and Test Procedures for Real-Time Automotive Software 
  • Perform Feature & Integration Software Builds
  • Perform Integration & Verification Testing of Integrated Software
  • Create, maintain and execute Software Test Plans, Procedures and Script
  • Utilize Lab and Vehicle Testing to determine System Performance & Interactions
  • Interface with Tier I Supplier with respect to their Board Support Package Software
  • Interface with GM internal teams – Calibrators, Vehicle Integration Teams, etc.


  • Experience with Controls System Design, Implementation & Testing
  • Experience with Controls Algorithm and Software development, implementation, Testing & debugging
  • Experience with Tools & Technologies such as Matlab/Simulink, Rhapsody, dSPACE, CAN, Vehicle Spy/Vector CANoe, etc.
  • Experience with Change Management systems such as RTC and IBM Change Synergy

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related degree


  • 2+ years of related industry experience
