What you get to do in this role 

As a Lead UX Designer, you will envision and deliver the digital interfaces that define BrightDrop delivery products and services. You’ll lead with your knowledge of in-vehicle experience, then help us envision the flow of data across a complex ecosystem. Your designs will show up on web and mobile interfaces, on displays in vehicles, and on connected devices. You’ll create compelling and useful experiences across all touchpoints, from delivery depot to consumer residences.  

As a member of the UX team, you’ll participate in every aspect of experience design, with an emphasis on the digital systems that link and manage the ecosystem of BrightDrop electric vehicles and carts. You’ll work with UX prototypers, other UX designers, UX researchers, and Software Engineering to hand off designs to production.

Responsibilities include:  

  • Define the overall UX strategy for software design across web, mobile, and in-vehicle environments.  

  • Work cross-functionally with HMI designers, prototypers, industrial designers, and engineers to create and evaluate new product concepts. 

  • Translate product requirements into designs at different levels of fidelity: concepts, user flows, wireframes, and visual designs. 

  • Lead and work with other UX designers to create these designs. 

  • Support and participate in internal and external user research, including formative research, benchmarking, prototype evaluation, and field tests. 

  • Develop design systems and other tools and methods to help UX Design scale as BrightDrop grows. 

Additional Description


  • 5+ years of experience designing for web and mobile applications. 

  • 2+ years of experience defining in-vehicle features and user experiences. 

  • Experience communicating objectives and desired outcomes with other UX/HMI designers, engineers, and product teams. 

  • A strong portfolio of UX design, from high level concepts to graphic assets, plus the skill to tell your story about how you arrived at your solutions. 

  • Experience with the full range of UX activities, from discovery through ideation, design, and evaluation. 

  • Fluency with industry-standard UX design tools such as Figma, Zeplin, animation toolkits. 

Great to have:  

  • Experience designing SaaS or other complex systems. 

  • Experience with data visualization or dashboard design. 

  • Experience designing consumer applications or sites. 

  • Experience with delivery services. 

  • Experience with autonomous vehicles, intelligent sensors, or IoT devices.
