This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1x3 times in Warren, Mi weekly.
At this level you are expected to operate with a high level of independent discernment and are typically responsible for implementing functional strategy, administering and coordinating programs, counseling and advising management.
As a fully-qualified individual contributor who has thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the function, you will provide expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems.
Resolve highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research.
Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
Skilled and proficient with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Rely mostly on extensive personal experience and discernment to plan and accomplish goals.
You will perform multiple tasks. Lead and likely direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
The GM Heating Ventilation/Air Conditioning (HVAC) offers opportunities across a spectrum of engineering experience.
These product engineering positions involve responsibility for all activities - including definition of requirements, execution
of design, and validation and testing - during the development of HVAC throughout a vehicle’s lifecycle. These roles
require an experienced engineer to lead and drive a cross functional product development team. In addition, they require
collaboration with peers in the creative design, purchasing, manufacturing, and quality functions.
The ideal candidate is one who desires to build their technical depth as an engineer within automotive HVAC. This
candidate possesses exemplary communication, project management skills, and is a passionate, hard-working person
who enjoys taking on challenges and following through with robust solutions.
Required Skills / Experience / Education:
-2 years of post graduation engineering experience required; 5+ years strongly preferred
-Bachelor of Science in STEM field or equivalent experience
-Ability to travel as needed (max = 15%)
-Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle
