Command Center Coordinator


Responsible for removing obstacles within the supply chain that may preclude GM’s ability to manufacture product. Ensure appropriate engagement is in place and countermeasures being developed to protect supply chain with all vital parties. This includes GM plants, suppliers, tactical operations, purchasing, logistics and VSSM. Monitor progress and provide leadership awareness of high risk items.

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 days per week at this time and may change in the future.

Key Job Elements:

  • Lead recovery process for assigned Command Center cases with appropriate GM functional staffs and Assembly/Metal Centers.

  • Work with other coordinators managing critical supply issues that come into the NASO Command Center

  • Must have some flexibility and at times work extended and non-core hours to ensure issues are worked to resolution. Flexibility to include rotation of short term working off shift hours from home. Off shift hours rotate and are currently set up from 5pm-5am 3 days / week on 4 off and then 4 days on / 3 off

  • Ability to summarize critical issues with resolutions and communicate to leadership

  • Develop and lead complex flow plans for supplier performance tracking and plant allocation of critical parts

  • Will be using MGO, Web-focus and various other tools to analyze supply chain status and develop countermeasures when necessary

  • Complete adhoc projects as the need arises including Holiday supplier work plans, premium reduction initiatives and late/increased production changes

  • Must be able to manage very complex & stressful supply issues to resolution with goal to eliminate/minimize plant disruptions and reduce premium transportation

Additional Description


  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Purchasing Field and/or relevant education.

  • Minimum 3+ years of industry experience


  • High level of analytical ability where problems can be somewhat complex

  • High level of oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others

  • Ability to balance multiple assignments

  • Computer skills and knowledge with understanding of GM On-line software (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, etc.)

  • Proficient in MGO


  • Production Control & Logistics Experience

  • Material system knowledge (MGO-A and MGO-C)

  • Purchasing system knowledge (GPS)

  • Skilled in managing projects

  • Planning and interpersonal abilities

  • Ability to work independently and self-directed

  • Plant Experience
