Cybersecurity Program Manager - AV/EV

Description

Hybrid:  This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

This position requires an employee to be onsite 4x per year .

The Cybersecurity Program Manager will support execution of cybersecurity elements across global programs (Autonomous and Electric Vehicles, vehicles with digital key, partial autonomous features, Brightdrop products, various accessories) and multiple model years. The Cybersecurity Program Manager will gather and analyze electronic control unit implementation plans, communicate with a large body of component owners and program teams, and synthesize information for leadership. In this role, you will drive change, communicate requirements, and track critical dependencies for successful launch of cybersecurity features.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate with all impacted component owner teams – GM program teams, technical teams, and externally with suppliers
  • Gather component plans and critical dependencies for implementation on a regular basis
  • Synthesize information into weekly report for leadership and working team
  • Understand global program structure, launch plan and timing, and global program ownership
  • Lead change management of impacted programs
  • Answer front line questions from program teams and electrical teams
  • Maintain a working knowledge of cybersecurity principles and elements
  • Contribute to global status meeting on a bi-weekly basis
  • Lead design and implementation reviews to ensure teams are executing latest cybersecurity requirements
  • Coordinate with validation efforts to ensure on-time execution
  • Remain knowledgeable of relevant trends, technologies, and best practices for securing embedded control systems

Additional Description

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Working experience of all aspects of design and development of automotive embedded systems, their application and integration in vehicle design
  • Solid understanding of major automotive subsystems, vehicle software integration, data dictionary strategy, and release strategy
  • Working knowledge of common automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, FlexRay, MOST, and Ethernet)
  • Solid understanding of ECU sourcing strategies and cost estimation principles
  • Ability to make decisions and recommendations while taking into account appropriate tradeoffs between conflicting objectives
  • Proven analytical/problem solving skills with capability to determine solutions to unusual and sophisticated problems
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams, as well as mentor, empower, and elicit work output from peers


PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • B.S., or Advanced Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Design release experience of electrical / software components, change management experience, program team experience
  • Vehicle launch experience
