District Sales Manager, Commercial (St. Louis, MO)

Hybrid Position: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to cover territory visits to dealerships in a reoccurring frequency. Could require an employee to be on a GM Facility 1x4 per year.

Role

The Commercial District Manager will have territorial responsibility for the administration of the Sales and Service Agreements that exist between GM and its dealers. You will act as a trusted advisor to our Business Elite dealers and Medium Duty Dealers by working together with them on the development and implementation of their business plans. This includes strategizing with the dealer to increase customer OnStar plans and other adjacency products. In this role, you will be working hand in hand with the dealers to ensure that our customers have the best customer experience from the point of purchase through the life cycle of that vehicle.  You will be involved in a variety of activities including implementation and development of marketing initiatives, customer retention, product displays, financial analysis, and training.  The territory is based out of St. Louis, MO and extends to Illinois, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Travel to dealerships in this territory is required.

Role Responsibilities

  • Facilitating, coaching and consulting with dealers to ensure monthly / yearly sales objectives are met as well as well as accomplishing other dealership goals.

  • Manage dealer compliance of the Business Elite program

  • Oversee Commercial Truck Club to grow membership and deliver value add content to members

  • Drive Commercial Integration into Business Development processes

  • Improve OnStar Package Sales and OVI telematics sales across all stores

  • Implement commercial digital marketing and advertising campaigns

  • Work to improve commercial website performance and increase lead generating activities

  • Analyze dealer sales, local market conditions (Sales, registration data, dealer effectiveness, lost sales) and competition to identify specific sales opportunities

  • Identify business-to-business related marketing opportunities that could lead to increased sales and service retention

  • Conduct sales and training activities including face-to-face customer meetings monthly

  • Assist dealers’ Commercial Sales Managers in executing local business-to-business tactics outlined in the dealer’s Business Elite business plan

  • Provide support in implementing regional and local business-to-business sales tactics (e.g. Targeted Association Activities, NAHB Events, etc)

  • Conduct dealership management meetings

Role Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, related areas or equivalent experience

  • 4+ years in sales and customer service; automotive preferred

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills that involves understanding the audience; getting the message across; presenting information effectively; and communicating openly

  • Excellent time management skills – the ability to effectively and efficiently use your time to focus on the most impactful activities and challenge those that distract from the identified goal

  • 100% mobile now and in the future

  • B2B Sales, Account Management, or Customer Service experience
