This role offers the following Work Appropriately strategy:

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week.

Who You Are

As a Domain Lead for CSM Integration/Warranty Specialist, you will be responsible for leading product development and integration activities. Responsibilities will include applying engineering tools and processes to successfully develop components and systems for vehicle programs. You will be part of the first response team supporting preproduction vehicles at various locations where you will facilitate troubleshooting & triaging vehicle level integration issues including hardware, software, calibration of new infotainment features. Our primary areas of focus are on the Center Stack Module (CSM) that drives overall infotainment capability in vehicles, in-vehicle applications, cameras, displays, and Supercruise. This role requires candidates to be familiar with vehicle infotainment systems, and to act as a system expert of how vehicle modules interact. What You Do

  • Bridge multiple disciplines, including Engineering, Information Technology, Technical Support, and Marketing, to make appropriate system-level design trade-offs and to identify, capture and refine system requirements and to identify innovation opportunities

  • Monitor & plan for receiving updates from critical infotainment components and evaluate CSM functionality/updates in an integrated environment

  • Reports and drives to resolution issue identified on test benches and vehicles

  • Work with validation, development and systems teams to triage issues and assist in communicating status of open issues to management

  • Support internal and external suppliers to make sure that defined program deliverables are delivered with quality for key vehicle achievements

  • Serve as subject matter expert for these features

  • Identify, track, and facilitate external development dependencies with other teams

  • Build and lead vehicle level test and development programs to evaluate and calibrate the performance of infotainment features

  • Support management reviews and provide regular status updates to leadership teams


Additional Description

What You Need

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related degree

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development life cycle (SDLC) such as systems engineering, integration and/or testing in related domains

  • Demonstrated hands-on validation or development experience with automotive software and/or electrical interfaces – CAN, LIN, EAVB, MOST, USB, LVDS as examples

  • Ability to diagnose and investigate issues with limited information

  • Experience in one or more domains critical to infotainment systems, e.g. wireless communication, Navigation, embedded software development, over the air software updates, cybersecurity, client-server solutions, web services, in-vehicle hardware and software development and lifecycle

  • Creative, disciplined with a strong sense of ownership, responsibility and on schedule delivery commitment

  • Outstanding communication skills

  • Familiarity with vehicle tools such as NEO-IV , DPS, Wireshark

What Would Be Even Better

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or similar area of focus

  • 4+ years of experience working with current automotive infotainment systems including Navigation, GPS, Bluetooth, USB, Speech Recognition, Microphones, Hands-free Processing and Audio Management, Displays and HMI, Camera and Video Management, AM/FM/XM Receivers/Tuners, Internet Apps, incl. Internet Radio, Cyber Security, Media Players, Text to Speech, System and Power Management, Phone, Data Carrier, and Data Downloads

  • Knowledge and experience with Viewing and Active Safety systems

  • Understanding of vehicle networks, serial data, CAN messaging and vehicle spy

  • Familiarity with industry related regulations (i.e. FMVSS111)

  • Proficiency in VBA, SQL, Python, Hadoop, Oracle

  • Knowledge and experiences with the Android platform, especially the Android framework and architecture

  • Experience with Speech Recognition, Text-To-Speech (TTS), Natural Language Understanding, Speech Dialog

  • Working knowledge of Media playback engine, Streaming, Codec/OMX, Media Capturing, Audio framework etc.
