End of Line Integration Engineer


Onsite: This position requires an employee to be onsite on a full time basis

The Role

The End of Line Integration Engineer will perform advance software bundle checkouts as it relates to the manufacturing end of line test processes.  This role will identify key issues and work with the Software Issue Resolution Teams, Assembly Verification Group, and component teams to resolve issues prior to software release for manufacturing builds.  This person will occasionally report out on end of line health checks to the program teams and SMT leadership.  This “hands on” role will provide experience / exposure to GM’s most advance vehicle programs before production start.  This position will provide opportunity for innovation in enhancing our end of line processes. This engineer will need to be highly motivated and have demonstrated a high degree of initiative.


  • Plan and execute EOLT (SW flash, key provisioning, SVT, AVT, DVT, and plant diagnostics) robustness and integration testing based off of Controls Development Plan (CDP)

  • Find innovative ways to assess new engineering technology impact to EOLT before implementation

  • Lead early EOLT engineering integration verification for platforms with no IV builds

  • Facilitate data collection and issue reproduction when needed during PPO and plant builds

  • Support SW IRT in demos of EOLT issue breakpoints and work PRTS Backlogs

  • Support SW IRT/PPO/Assembly Plant in identifying key EOL issues that need to be highlighted via robustness testing and MERS analysis

  • Support SW IRT with EOLT assembly plant readiness (deviations, ignores, etc.)

  • Lead EOL health check reports for program team and electrical SMT

  • Loop SW IRT/PPO/Assembly Plant into all new unique EOLT issues that are discovered directly via EEB/PRTS

  • Highlight cross-platform common VIP issues that will cause EOLT roadblocks

  • Support AVG group from an engineering standpoint for EOLT VeSCoM checkout activities

  • Ensure proper data is collected during AVG checkout to root cause EOLT engineering issues and all unique issues are documented

  • Facilitate vehicle VeSCoM updates when needed for testing purposes

  • Learn SW IRT responsibilities and fill in where needed

Additional Description


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering

  • 2+ years of technical knowledge and ability in relevant engineering disciplines (e.g. Software, Calibration, Control Theory, Plant EOL, AVG)

  • Ability to effectively communicate issues, status and recommendations to team members and senior management

  • Experience or knowledge of relevant tools (i.e. NeoVi/VehSpy, Vector, Intrepid, GBFTT, dSPACE)

  • Strong understanding or ability to quickly learn major automotive subsystems.

  • Demonstrate high level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues

  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing EOLT processes

  • Proven leadership skills which translate to high degree of inner self confidence and ability to motivate others

  • Understanding of GVDP/program timing and major manufacturing milestones

  • Proven ability in project management skills and ability to teach others.

  • Able to deal with high level of ambiguity 

  • Travel may be required to plants for build event

Preferred Skills

  • Master of Science in Engineering

  • 5+ years of technical knowledge and ability in relevant engineering disciplines (e.g. Software, Calibration, Control Theory, Plant EOL, AVG)

  • AVG test development or support experience

  • Thorough understanding of VIP architecture (i.e. ISO 14229, Cybersecurity, Ethernet)

  • In-depth knowledge of embedded software development, testing and associated tools
