Export Total Compliance Engineer

Description

Hybrid: This position requires an employee to be onsite every other week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Export emission compliance strategies with key stakeholders
  • Maintain high level of knowledge in current and future emissions regulations in regions of export
  • Develop and execute Export Emissions and Fuel Economy Certification and Compliance test plans and participate in Witness testing
  • Develop and execute Conformity of Production (CoP), In-Service Conformity, CO2 monitoring, and In-Use Performance Ratio test plans
  • Work with emissions lab to communicate test plans and resolve open issues
  • Support Chief Engineers in readiness and program management with status updates of Export emission approvals
  • Contact for Export emission compliance testing issues to vehicle and product groups
  • Prepare and submit required certification documentation

Required Skills and Experience:

  • BS degree with 3 - 5 years of experience
  • Functional knowledge of engines, emission control hardware, propulsion system embedded controls, diagnostics and/or Export/Type approval compliance
  • Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to concurrently manage multiple complex projects and assignments with autonomy and accountability for results
  • Detail oriented
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and root cause analysis skills, especially where problems are unusual and difficult

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 5 years engineering experience related to emission controls and/or diagnostics release, development/verification, certification, and/or Type approval compliance
  • DFSS Black Belt Certification
  • Experience as company representative to Government agencies and/or industry associations
