Feature Owner - User Authentication and Theft Deterrence

Description

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively.  The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

  • This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week.

Systems Engineering is based on systems thinking:  it attempts to derive understanding of parts from the behavior and properties of wholes, rather than derive the behavior and properties of wholes from those of their parts.

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert on User Authentication and Theft Deterrence.
  • Act as primary contact for the resolution of current product  feature regulatory, compliance, and customer satisfaction issues
  • Work with the program teams to ensure the correct feature characteristics and capabilities are defined for the intended purpose of said program.
  • Definition of feature function and content to meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure the features are properly specified to function as intended under all operating conditions and use cases, with nominal, six sigma and failed components.
  • Understand and comprehend the interdependency of the feature with other vehicle features and their impact on overall vehicle performance.
  • Drive communization of feature implementation where possible, i.e. drive complexity reduction where possible
  • Understand and comprehend the interdependency of the feature with other vehicle features and their impact on overall vehicle performance.
  • Create/Review Owner’s Manual information describing the features.
  • Collaborate on feature verification and validation plans / procedures.
  • Provide HAZOP analysis and support System Safety Team in the safety case development for the feature
  • Drive ATW plan for new feature hardware/software content development.
  • Define how the feature will evolve over time for applications
  • Project manager/lead for first implementation of feature

Additional Description

  • Understanding of relevant technologies around Apple iOS and Android is desired. 
  • In-depth experience/knowledge in digital keys, Bluetooth, UWB and NFC within the Vehicle Intelligence Platform (VIP). Guide release teams regarding system level interactions and performance. 
  • Architecture development, requirements modeling and System Engineering background
  • Strong understanding or ability to quickly learn major automotive subsystems. 
  • Demonstrated excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues. 
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of related engineering experience
