Global Manager - Warehouse Design and Support

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively.  The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired

- This position requires an employee to be onsite monthly.

  • The Warehouse Design and Support Manager is responsible for leading a team that will assist the plants in achieving world class fulfilment and design through safe operating practices and leadership, productivity improvements, efficient warehouse design, automation and innovative approaches to problem solving. This individual will drive rapid change, improve safety, cost reduction, productivity and work cross functionally to achieve business results,

Job Responsibilities:

  • Creative problem solving and critical thinking skills with a bias towards action

  • A strong sense of urgency around your work and the ability to hold yourself accountable to the highest standard of excellence

  • Experience leading projects and providing leadership to your team and the plant team

  • In-depth business knowledge of current lean processes and material handling

  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively

  • Understanding of business issues and data challenges of the automotive production and material handling business

  • Strong business acumen, and the ability to translate “data” to a “business story” and effectively communicate it to business stakeholders and partners

  • Working cross-functionally to implement cost reduction methods and system improvements

  • Ability to influence people across the organization. Ability to act as a change agent

  • Own the business tasks to ensure on-time, within scope, and under budget delivery

  • Create a vision and execute strategy for cost savings and productivity improvement activities

  • Hire, develop, and manage an inclusive, engaged, global, and high-performing team


Additional Description

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 5+ years of leadership experience

  • within a fulfillment, warehouse, or manufacturing organization.

  • PDC WMS Experience with warehouse 4.0 technology as a bonus

  • Real estate portfolio optimization and administration experience

  • Capacity/Design and installation of storage racking solutions experience

  • Excellent communication skills

  • 30-40% Travel will be required to our Warren and PC Michigan sites and our PDC locations across the US
