Infotainment Verification Test Architect - SDV

Our Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) team is developing the next generation of embedded platform software to deliver state of the art Infotainment features on the Ultifi platform. We are looking for energetic engineers with experience in Android, QNX, and Linux to help us deliver high quality software for future automotive infotainment systems! This position is flexible to ensure work-life integration. 

As an Infotainment Test Architect at GM, you will design automation solutions, test strategies, and test methodologies while working closely with development teams. You will support test activities through the entire software development lifecycle, including platform and application requirements analysis, tool definition and selection, defect prioritization and triage, and product launch support. This exciting infotainment test position is a central hub for the testing and integration of all GM's infotainment software. Responsibilities:

  • Design test strategies that enable efficient and effective verification of complex Infotainment software on GM’s Ultifi platform.

  • Collaborate with automation team members to ensure maximum effectiveness through tool evaluation, enhancements to script architecture and definition of value-add platform enhancements.

  • Work as technical mentor to deliver the training and guidance required to develop a highly capable SW Verification team.

  • Identify and remove obstacles that prevent the test execution team from completing committed deliverables.

  • Collaborate with virtual engineering development teams to develop next generation tools and processes to support development on the Software Defined Vehicle.

  • Provide technical representation for the SW Verification organization in cross-functional project teams.

  • Lead workshop discussions designed to solve complex problems and propose innovative solutions.

  • Foster and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment while driving process improvement and innovative solutions.

  • Support program and project management activities including estimation, planning, tracking, performance metric development and status reporting.

  • Identify high risk or potential launch blocking issues and work with development teams to ensure they quickly resolved.

  • Develop and adapt test processes to fit the needs of an enterprise level SW organization.

  • Evaluate test coverage and identify action items to improve overall effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in an automotive or consumer electronics embedded product development organization.

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related.

  • Hands-on test automation expertise with in-depth knowledge of multiple open-source/commercial tools for test automation.

  • Development or test experience working with Infotainment Operating Systems such as Android, Linux or QNX.

  • High level of oral and written communication skills to work independently and effectively with others.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Automotive SW Test or Development, including experience with test automation and test or software architecture.

  • Understanding of Vehicle Electrical Architecture and Subsystem/Features in the Infotainment domain.

  • Advanced degree in engineering or management/leadership.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
