Integration Lead


Job Description

This is a Hybrid position within our IT Organization. The role will allow employees to work remotely but will also require onsite work based on business needs. The selected candidate will be expected to commute to the innovation center to which they are assigned as their primary GM facility. Relocation may be provided.

About the Role

The Manufacturing Launch team is responsible and accountable for deploying all IT systems (application, infrastructure, controls, cybersecurity technologies) required to launch a new product.  The Launch Integration Lead will be responsible for ensuring all new business capability that needs development requirements are gathered by the appropriate team(s) and integrated into the appropriate Development (SAFe) and Program Management Office (PMO) processes to meet critical launch and business timelines. 

They will work directly with both Business and IT Launch Project Managers, development managers, and PMO to ensure all roadblocks are identified and eliminated.  They will ensure all appropriate IGLP (IT Global Launch Process) processes are followed and provide appropriate status reporting and/or escalations as needed.  They will own project messaging and lead all communication forums needed, including scheduling and driving meetings to ensure cross-functional integration.   

They will be expected to help evaluate all processes involved (IGLP, Development Lifecyle, and PMO) and provide strategies on changes to streamline the process to ensure all business requirements identified are delivered on time with quality. 

This is a geographically diverse team operating with current launch projects ongoing in multiple locations, so occasional travel to manufacturing plants and innovation centers may be required. 

They will be expected to interface with various levels of leadership in multiple different IT organizations including Development, Project Management Office, Global Infrastructure, and Global Telecom along with various business organizations including Engineering, Vehicle Systems, and Manufacturing Plants.  

An ability to simplify complex problems in a way that resonates with different audiences, both visually and written, will be important.  Understanding and demonstrating know-how to achieve results across multiple launch projects within GM will also be key to success.

The  Launch Integration Lead will:  

  • Understand various processes and reporting requirements tied to multiple processes including IGLP, PMO, and current Development Frameworks (example SAFe)
  • Develop methods and integration points into various processes including IGLP, PMO, and Development Lifecycle
  • Ensure all development requirements are appropriately documented, executed, and reported to ensure required business requirements are delivered by the required launch deadlines
  • Create and provide status reports as defined
  • Escalate all concerns relating to meeting the launch deadlines
  • Work to clear all roadblocks and resolve issues as needed.
  • Own project messaging by Leading/facilitating meetings with various levels and organizations including Plant Business, Central Business Teams (Vehicle Systems, Engineering, etc), Deployment, Development, Global Infrastructure, etc.
  • Act as the partner relationship liaison with GMIT Mfg Launch/Deploy, Development and PMO to maintain open line of communication, escalation channel, and intercompany transactions to ensure productive and successful business outcomes 
  • Take initiative to improve processes and effectively prioritize work 
  • Prospective team members possess a high degree of business insight, creativity, decision making skills, a drive for results, the ability to negotiate, the ability to develop strong peer relationships, and a strong technical learning capability and focus.

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates should be high-performing individuals with proven track records and several years of broad or cross-functional experience who have: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT field or Business Administration with IT experiences
    • A significant knowledge of the corporate structure, vision, and related processes along with a proven successful track record in navigating cross functional teams to achieve desired results 
    • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret data to provide insight and recommendations to complex, unusual, or difficult problems 
    • An ability to create comprehensive status updates
    • Experience in effectively managing relationships and influencing senior leaders and key stakeholders 
    • Over 5 years of experience leading complex projects, programs, or team objectives
    • Over 3 years of IT experience and an understanding of common software architectures, systems, and concepts 
    • A demonstrated proficiency in computer/system/data skills to manage presentations, analysis, and data insights 
    • Expertise in managing and leading complex projects and/or programs with a high degree of autonomy, confidentiality, and accountability for results
    • Familiarity with the plant manufacturing environment is preferred
    • Strong background in software/application development lifecycle, including budget, planning, requirements management, and test procedures.
    • Understanding of Project Management processes and tools (Project Lifecycle, PPM, MS Project, etc)
