For this developer role within GM you are responsible for develop data services and data hub related application development using Java, Oracle and related technologies. In addition to new development, you will also be responsible for updating existing software and/or providing dev ops support for the code developed by the organization. As a developer you will be expanding your skills and domain knowledge by working closely with more senior developers to ensure design patterns/frameworks.
You will need to have proven experience in the following:
Full lifecycle application development using standard design patterns/frameworks
Must have experience as part of a software project delivery effort
Demonstrate mastery of several Java and DB (Oracle) development
Assists with Performance tuning, usability assessment/improvement
Knowledge of maintaining and debugging live software applications
Work closely with senior developers, software engineers and/or data scientist to gain additional knowledge and expertise.
Document software solutions and ensure that technical documentation meets GM standard
Understand and maintain compliance with GM standards and industry standard methodology
Holds themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GMs values and cultural behaviors.
Models GM behaviors and crafts a winning culture.
Minimum 3+ years’ experience designing and developing enterprise applications
Bachelor's degree in technical discipline preferred or equivalent experience required.
Experience with resilient application design and secure coding practices
Expertise leveraging Object Oriented Programming methodologies and design patterns including domain-driven design, microservices.
Knowledge of standard development tools.
Experienced with DB development (preferably Oracle PL/SQL)
Possess excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on verbal and written communication.
Ability to optimize the performance of code.
