This position will be responsible for performing strategic network design analysis and providing recommendations related to the GM aftersales logistics network. This role will work cross functionally within Supply Chain, Warehousing and Logistics (SCWL), with primary focus on optimizing costs, customer improvements, product flows, and greenfield analysis.
This position will be responsible for managing and analyzing big data activities and support and running what-if simulations within the GM aftersales logistics network. Additionally, this role will lead and support project development tasks, serve as a subject matter expert for logistics network changes, and will work cross-functionally to ensure alignment and overall improvement recommendations to business owners.
Candidate must have a proven track record of taking the initiative, dealing with ambiguity, problem solving and leading change.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Responsible for logistics engineering, data analysis, project management, and generation of strategic cost savings initiatives using design software, statistical analysis, and additional technical tools.
Generating new ideas and initiatives that optimize cost and customer service levels within the Supply Chain, Warehousing and Logistics organizations
Managing cross functional value optimization projects from idea conception to project implementation
Collaborate with IT and enterprise business owners to prioritize recommendations and opportunities in support of logistics initiatives. This will entail managing system and business constraints, while balancing current vs future process improvements.
Lead and support the team in producing logistics value optimization recommendations
Subject matter expert with logistics systems and processes to assist all cross-functional senior leadership in understanding and improving the overall CCA network.
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or related fields (required)
Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related fields (preferred)
5+ years of work experience within Supply Chain
Knowledge of data mining/analytics, logistics engineering, and tool creation (required)
Experience in advanced programming (preferred)
Expert running analysis in Tableau and Power BI (preferred)
Expert in Llamasoft or other network modeling tools and each of their modeling functions (preferred)
Network wide knowledge of transportation, demand and inventory planning, warehousing operations, order fulfillment, distribution, and supplier performance.
Expert in logistics processes, logistics optimization, and end to end supply chain management best practices
Experience gathering and interpreting complex quantitative and qualitative data using statistical analysis methods, and able to develop tools for root causing and interpreting supply chain management processes
In-depth knowledge and experience in network design software, algorithms, and statistical analysis
Understanding of logistics finance principles and reporting
