Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. This position requires an employee to be onsite 2-4 times per month.

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and forward-thinking Mechatronics Embedded Software Architect to support the Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) organization and Ultifi within the Mechatronic Platform Design Team. This team supports the definition and implementation of the infrastructure software building blocks of an industry-leading capability to introduce new software applications in vehicles.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for development, deployment, and maintenance of the software modules

  • Participate in the design of a best-in-class in-vehicle Abstracted Mechatronic Platform for GM new electronic architecture

  • Follow our software development process where quality comes first and ensure that the designed solutions conform to architectural requirements such as scalability, maintainability, reliability, extensibility, usability, and security

  • Ensure proper communications and teamwork between various internal and external technical teams to make appropriate system-level design trade-offs, refine system requirements, and identify innovation opportunities

  • Collaborate with team members in software development activities using the Scrum/Agile development process


Additional Description

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical degree

  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with software programming and debugging complex code base in C++, Java and Python experience at software infrastructure level

  • Knowledge and experience in serial communication CAN/ LIN protocols

  • Familiarity in AutoSAR and/or Adaptive AutoSAR developments

  • Experience in Software Development for Linux/QNX/POSIX operative systems

  • Experience with Ethernet protocol and Ethernet networks

  • Understanding of service-oriented communication protocols (SOME/IP, DDS, REST, etc.)

  • In depth experience with Scrum/Agile software development process and SCM tools

  • High level of interpersonal communication skills (written and oral)

  • Able to work independently with high degree of initiative

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in engineering field

  • 5 years in Software Development at software infrastructure level

  • Experience on automotive control systems with RTOS platforms

  • Experience in Android Application

  • Familiarity with Android Platform, framework services, HAL, and AOSP

  • Familiarity with QNX, Real time OS, IPC communication
