Paint Shift Leader


We are looking for a motivated individual who wants to join our Wentzville team as a Paint Shift Leader.  We are in the process of a world class launch and it is an exciting time in our facility.  In this role, you will lead and develop a team of salary and hourly talent. Train salary group leaders in the implementation and execution of the established business process for an area in the production operations and foster an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation. You will be responsible for engaging your team during their shifts to maintain the highest levels of safety, productivity, attendance, and quality. To achieve this, shift leaders are expected to provide their teams with the tools needed for success while driving improvements in productivity and efficiency through data-driven decisions and analytical problem-solving.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting, mentoring, and motivating your salary and hourly workforce across multiple departments

  • Manage safety, productivity, and quality

  • Provide assistance in analyzing and solving complex manufacturing problems by assisting in obtaining resources to effectively perform operations

  • You will assist in the forecasting of areas of responsibility and establish a course of action to accomplish completion of the job or project

  • Collaborate closely with all support teams to meet business objectives, including cost and schedule demands 

  • Compliance with the terms of the local and national labor agreements

  • Work is of a technical nature using independent judgment within the limits of GMS; focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE)

  • Must possess the ability to deal with complex problems.

Additional Description

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience in a plant setting

  • 5+ years of managing in a paint shop environment

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Experience with the development and execution of regional strategies

  • Experience with coaching and building teams effectively

  • Be able to problem solve and implement process improvements

  • Previous project management experience
