Our growing User Experience team is seeking hard-working and versatile Partner UI Integration Product Designer to weave together customer-facing experiences from different partners, across multiple in-vehicle brands. Our work touches the lives of drivers and passengers across the globe.

As a Partner UI Integration Product Designer, you will collaborate internally with other GM product designers, visual designers, user researchers, engineers, architects, and business collaborators to craft meaningful experiences for our customers through thoughtful design integration. You’ll also collaborate externally with key GM partners whose own product experiences live within our vehicle. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, interaction design skills, an understanding of and dedication to user-centered design and have experience designing digital products through execution.

Description:

Partner UI Integration Product Designers support multi-disciplinary teams focused on weaving external partner experiences and UI with internal GM user experiences and UI. This designer will need to fully understand the GM in-vehicle design system as well as our partner design systems and platforms to create one seamlessly designed experience for the end user.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with team members and valued partners to craft premier integrated user experiences across all products and platforms for vehicle features
  • Balance user needs, technical constraints, partner requirements and business objectives to tackle problems optimally
  • Identify user experience gaps due to conflicting product requirements
  • Craft interaction designs, being the champion of usability and user-centered design principles
  • Create design deliverables to communicate your work as needed, including sketches, logic and flow, prototypes, wireframes, and specifications
  • Facilitate workshops and collaborative design activities with collaborators, team members and partners
  • Participate in user experience research and testing to validate designs, get user feedback, and see opportunities to improve the customer experience
  • Work with product owners and key collaborators to brainstorm and find opportunities, implementing them as a detailed part of the overall user experience
  • Contribute to the continued evolution of the team’s workflows and processes to further improve quality and performance

Additional Description

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience creating digital interfaces for web, mobile, in-vehicle interfaces, or other surfaces
  • Strong UX portfolio with work samples showcasing expertise in user experience design, iterative process, quality of craft, and depth of thought
  • Successful track record for bringing digital products to execution and working closely with software engineers
  • Open to feedback, knows how to give and receive criticism, and how and when to defend design decisions
  • Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Proficient in Axure and Sketch

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interests aligned with Tech and Automotive industries
  • Experience incorporating research into the design process, including contextual inquiry, usability testing, heuristic evaluation, etc
  • Some experience with software development or a baseline understanding of coding language
  • Some design prototyping experience (Axure or similar)
  • 2+ years designing digital products
  • Degree in HCI, Product Design, Interaction Design or equivalent experience

Compensation:

The median level of salary compensation for this role is $113,760

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
