Parts Launch Excellence Lead - Global Aftersales Engineering


CCA's Global Aftersales Engineering organization has responsibility for the service deliverable readiness of every GM vehicle globally! These include service part release, service information, labor time guide, service part catalogue, diagnostic software, service programming, pre-delivery inspection forms, customer service information and special tools.

Hybrid:  This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

  • This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week.


  • Active member of a CCA multi-functional team supporting our White Glove rapid response process to support service part readiness & availability

  • Support the launch excellence of a Limited Start of Production (LSOP) program

  • Act as the single point contact for all Global Aftersales Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, & Propulsion) critical parts stocked at the GM vehicle assembly plant and provide guidance on filling component orders.

  • Act as the single point contact for Part Technical Support (PARTECH) and be fully integrated to address the programs specific Service Parts Assistance Center (SPAC) cases

  • Provide technical support for parts requiring programming & shipment from Electronic Service Center (ESC)

  • Monitor Temporary Change Request (TCR) & Engineering Change Request (ECR) and associated Part Number Changes for vehicle build events

  • Use Assembly Plant Material Global Optimization (MGO), Supplier Quality Management System (SQMS), Engineering Change Requests (ECR), and Aftersales Release & Cataloging (ARC) system to understand part change timing, interchangeability, & availability

  • Attend all Issue Resolution Team (IRT), Change Approval Board (CAB), Temporary Change Request (TCR) and Materials calls as the CCA representative

  • Assist in packaging and oversize parts studies for parts that may require plant pull in support of SPAC cases in advance of Start of Regular Production (SORP)

  • Understand the service strategy established and the up-assembly required if parts are not readily available at the component level

  • Support sheet metal readiness at Plant 1 for ELPO metal prep prior to shipping to dealer

  • Regular communication with Service and Design Release Engineering teams

  • Travel as the need arises.

Additional Description

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (preferred), Automotive or similar, or equivalent experience.

  • Confirmed understanding of vehicle systems - working technical knowledge with prior automotive service or engineering experience

  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills

  • Proven analytical, problem solving, and root cause analysis skills, especially where problems are unusual and difficult

  • Knowledge of Global Aftersales Engineering and Global Product Development systems and processes

  • Self-starter who can work independently and within a team

  • Quantitative and analytical skills with attention to detail

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office systems (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
