Portfolio and Product Consultant - GM Rewards Cards and Business Development


Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-4 x per year

General Purpose of Position :

The primary responsibility of this position is to support the management and development of the GM My Rewards program and credit card portfolio. The position contains bank, network, vendor, and internal client interface.It supports the business in the areas of portfolio management and development, budgeting, finance, research, performance analysis, reporting, data, systems development, and other miscellaneous duties as needed.The ability to creatively problem solve, effectively communicate, and work constructively across a variety of audiences is necessary.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Portfolio management and development

  • Support strategy development, planning, and execution

  • Monitor and analyze performance and assist in the development of remediation/growth tactics

  • Promote and align program level planning with tactical level execution

  • Participate in produce/program development efforts both internal to GM and with contractual partner

  • Engage with contractual partners in relationship management and program execution efforts (planning, issue resolution, and business operations support)

Budget support

  • Work closely with the program’s budget team to support budget development and management

  • Assist in constructing yearly budgets

  • Develop reporting for yearly budgets

  • Work with internal and contractual partners to execute payments

Finance Support

  • Work closely with the program’s finance team to support

  • 1) Business casing

  • 2) Product development

  • 3) Program and product forecasting

  • 4) Program and product re-appraisals

  • 5) Business proposals

  • Track, monitor, summarize financial and programmatic performance versus plan and objectives

  • Develop and maintain internal dashboards

  • Assist with the publication of programmatic reporting

Running the business support

  • Assist in preparing program leadership for meetings and reviews with contractual and internal partners

  • Assist with yearly business planning process and performance assessment reviews

  • Assist with the management of contractual issues

  • Assist with managing research and analytic projects and vendors

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be a problem solver and analytical thinker showing the ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently, but knowing when to escalate issues.

  • Requires a sense of urgency, attention to detail, and the ability to work under very tight/aggressive deadlines while managing multiple projects.

  • Must be able to procure, manipulate, analyze, interpret, and report out data and data findings in multiple output forms (forecasting / reporting / dashboarding / briefs).

  • Must be able to build and maintain strong relationships and gain the trust and confidence of other professionals both internally and externally.

  • Be a strategic thinker with ability to execute tactically.

  • Must show the ability to quickly learn, retain, and utilize a wide variety of information.

  • Have an understanding of data-driven CRM marketing programs.

Experience, Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business Management, Marketing Analytics, Marketing, or Finance

  • 5+ years of Marketing Analytics/Business Management/Reporting/Marketing experience

  • Familiar with the automotive industry and/or financial industries (preferred)

  • Understanding of credit card / rewards cards market (preferred)

  • High level proficiency in MS Excel and broad ability with other MS Office programs

  • Compensation:  The median level of salary compensation for this role is $102,111.04 USD Annual
  • Bonus Potential:  An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
