Propulsion/Stamping Specification Analyst

Description

Responsible for the manufacturing plant bill of material requiring precise accuracy and timing to maximize plant efficiency, meet delivery schedules, meet inventory goals, and coordinate engineering changes.  Work involves a considerable amount of perception and a wide latitude for independent action.

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively.  The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

Responsibilities:
Executes deliverables in support of the supply chain organization's business objectives. Guides of one of the key areas within the Global Supply Chain to ensure business objectives are met or exceeded in all areas including customer, quality, service, responsiveness, people, product and financial initiatives.

Position communicates to all levels of the organization, within the function as well as other functions and suppliers Position is responsible for supporting relationship management with logistic suppliers and service providers.

  • Create, communicate, and maintain the integrity of product bill of material and other required information within the MGO-C system

  • Interpret Engineering Part Release and change data using the Product Engineering systems (GPDS and E2)

  • Act as subject matter expert and liaison with other departments and/or functions

  • Assist plants in resolving scheduling and inventory issues as needed

  • Create and maintain manufacturing contracts for GMNA component and assembly plants

  • Lead and participate in Future of Supply Chain initiatives

  • Special Projects as required outside normal functions


Additional Description

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Supply Chain, Business, etc.)

Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills both written & verbal

  • High level of analytical ability to gather and interpret complex data

  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, including contacts outside of GM

  • High level of planning and organizational ability

  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual, and solutions need to be identified

  • Computer skills and knowledge with understanding of GM On-line software (Microsoft Excel, Word, ACCESS, Outlook, etc.)

  • Ability to work independently and self-directed

  • Good understanding of supply chain functions

Preferred Skills:

  • Background in bill of material applications

  • Ability to interpret design and specification data

  • Material system knowledge (MGO-C)

  • Engineering release system knowledge (GPDS, ECM)

  • Experience in Supply chain or Logistics (5 years)

  • Ability to work independently and self-directed
