Senior Domain Architect


This is a Hybrid position within our IT Organization. The role will allow employees to work offsite but will also require onsite work based on business needs. The selected candidate will be expected to commute to the innovation center to which they are assigned as their primary GM facility. Relocation may be provided.

Job Summary:

As a domain architect, you will be able to both understand systems at a technical level as well as be able to take the broad view of these systems, how they interact and enable the delivery of manufacturing strategy and roadmap. You are comfortable getting into the code and configuration across the entire stack. You are able to deeply understand the interactions between various systems and can understand the data flow and the context. You will have multiple significant successes in large enterprise software development projects. You are a technical leader who’s familiar with multiple tools, languages, frameworks, technologies and development methodologies. You will be a leader on the team and need to be very comfortable managing conflicting priorities and multiple deliverables at the same time.

Responsibilities/ Qualifications:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information technology or equivalent experience/training

  •  At least 15+ year's experience in analysis, design, and development/integration of n-Tier application in a large scale enterprise technology organization.

  • At least 7 years' experience as a technical lead / architect

  • Solid working knowledge of software or hardware design, selection and deployment techniques and methodologies

  • At least 5 years of full stack development experience

  • Practical knowledge of the application architecture design methodologies and frameworks

  •  Comfortable in creating architectural document deliverables and presenting it to senior leadership.

  • Comfortable in developing quick POC to prove out any technology/ design.

  • Experience with high throughput messaging systems (IBM MQ, Apache Kafka,Pulsar etc)

  • Expert in debugging production issues.

  • Defines current and future state architectural models and views as necessary to ensure availability of a thorough and robust comprehension of the assigned domain

  • Participates in and leads technical incident management and troubleshooting meetings

  • Understands security risks for applications and code remediation techniques

  • Experience transforming legacy apps to 12 factor design using modern technologies is desirable.

  • Expertise and passion in driving teams towards a CI/CD based culture

  • Experience in Manufacturing is a plus.

  • Web: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React

  • Frameworks: .NET, Spring, JavaEE

  • Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, Stored Procedure Development, Performance Tuning, ETL tools

  • Web Application Servers: WebLogic, Tomcat

  • Native Mobile application development using Xamarin, React or equivalent

  • Development Environments: Visual Studio, IntelliJ

  • OS: Linux, Windows,

  • Tools: Azure DevOps , TFS, git

  • Cloud Infrastructure - Kubernetes/ Docker, Pivotal Cloud, AWS etc

  • Methodologies: Agile, Spiral, Waterfall, Iterative

  • Network: Manufacturing plant network, L2 devices, PLC etc is preferred
