Senior GIS Developer


“Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-4 times per year. Relocation may be provided”

This senior level GIS Developer leads and generates technical solutions and lead development of GIS services including Maps, Geocoding, and locators currently deployed in GM tools. This role requires extensive knowledge and experience within enterprise wide GIS development using ESRI Software Suite to provide, communicate and support standard methodologies among GM GIS Software Community!

Job duties:

  • Leads and generates technical solutions including specifying of requirements, functional decomposition, analysis, development and testing for current, new and major programs
  • Lead development of GIS services including Maps, Geocoding, Locators, these are currently primarily deployed in ArcGIS Server.
  • Performs sophisticated design analysis
  • Specifies and balances system requirements
  • Provide, communicate, and support common best practices among GM GIS software community

Additional Description

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field, preferable GIS or CS
  • Professional experience and broad knowledge of enterprise wide GIS development
  • Broad experience in ESRI Software Suite (ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS enterprise)

Preferred Requirements

  • Master’s degree in technical subject area, preferable GIS or CS
  • 5+ years of Professional experience within GIS data processing including coding & scripting
  • Strong Development Experience within Python scripting
  • Ability to work in Windows and Linux environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal direction.
  • Java / SpringBoot microservices development experience preferred.
