About the Senior Technical Editor / Content Creator Lead Role

As a Senior Technical Editor / Content Creator Lead, you will be responsible for reviewing the work of technical writers, writing technical documentation, designing templates and graphics, developing training manuals, and maintaining our online technical content.

Systems content is comprised of, but not limited to, written, online, and rich media material production.

You will need to have detailed knowledge of a variety of technical topics.  You will need to be able to gain depth in the content that is being produced and be engaged in the delivery of these materials to our content consumers. 

Content Consumers include, but are not limited to, systems architects, operations support specialists, developers, testers, performance engineers, business users, senior management, and executives.

This role is expected to be proficient in:

  • Leading & Developing top content creation talent from new college hires to very senior technical writers / content creators.

  • Taking strategic ambiguities and turning them into actionable plans that the teams can execute to.

  • Technologies across software, test automation, build, deployment, and operational processes.

  • Critical thinking and courage to take calculated risks and define create solutions for opportunities that arise.

  • Injecting new technologies and methodologies, looking ahead to build future-proof consumable content.

  • Working across multi-functional teams, be comfortable working in a matrixed organization and aligning diverse stakeholders.

  • Define and Drive socialization and outreach efforts to build a culture of innovative & intuitive solutioning.

  • Define strategies for the advancement of content creation and use of these materials by our consumers.

  • Define strategies for the measurement of productivity for our content creation group.

Additional Description


  • A bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Journalism, English, Applied Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related experience.

  • 10+ years technical content creation

  • 3+ years of leading teams or efforts of 10 or more people.

  • Experience with stakeholder alignment, communicating, and presenting to senior executives.

  • Experience with planning, organizing, and leading multiple scrum teams.

  • Demonstrated portfolio and resource planning and delivering within scope and budget.

  • Very strong project management skills and experience.

  • Facilitated high level of team engagement across diverse functional areas.

  • Demonstrated experience in putting into practice highly purposeful and efficient content creation processes and methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in driving large programs/campaigns across multiple stakeholders simultaneously.

  • Strategic planning, roadmap creation, and project plans to look ahead and deliver world class software.

  • Expertise in content creation (written, online, rich media)

  • Expertise in driving socialization, adoption, and consumption of the materials produced.

  • Experience leading a group comprised of new technical content creators.

  • Experience working directly with consumers to improve the fidelity of the content produced.

  • Experience defining and developing relationships with technical teams and staff via feedback looping.

You will need to demonstrate experience and proficiency in any of the following technology platforms/patterns 7+ years of hands on experience:

  • Technical Writing / Documentation Design, Production, and Editing

  • Application Architecture Diagram Design, Production, and Editing

  • Data Entity Relationship Diagram Design, Production, and Editing

  • UML Sequence Diagram Design, Production, and Editing

  • Rich Media Design, Production, and Editing

  • User Flow Diagram Design, Production, and Editing

  • Data Flow Diagram Design, Production, and Editing

  • Knowledge Base (Information, Troubleshooting, Triage, Resolution) Document Design, Production, and Editing.

  • Application Programming Interface Documentation Design, Production, and Editing

  • Content Review and Refinement

  • Story Board Design, Production, and Editing

  • User Persona Documentation
