Software Engineer - Benchmarking

OVERVIEW :

GM’s Advanced Vehicle Development group is expanding our innovative benchmarking team into vehicle software. You will play an integral role in defining how we assess and benchmark our competitor’s key vehicle features, user experiences, and software driven electrical architectures as well as maintaining this data for continuous use and growth.

The GM Benchmarking team’s mission is to drive informed decisions regarding the competitive landscape. We create, gather, analyze, and communicate benchmarking information to various engineering teams. You will work closely with internal and external technical experts to define, analyze, and compare competitive vehicle communication protocols and ECU architectures and how they are packaged (modules/locations/etc.).

We are looking for a self-driven, innovative, energetic, and can-do attitude person to fill this new role! You must have experience with vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and software development as well as the use of diagnostic/network testing tools such as INCA, Vehicle Spy, Wireshark, CANalyzer, RAD-Galaxy, neoVI, and CANoe.

Hybrid Work Location: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. This position requires an employee to be onsite as required for key meetings/workshops on a minimal basis.


Additional Description

Required :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and or Computer Science
  • 2+ years of experience in vehicle software design, service, and/or engineering
  • Intermediate level performance in programming (languages C, C++, Python, etc)
  • Experience with design and release of software and electrical components
