Hybrid:  This position does not require an employee to be onsite full-time to perform most effectively.  The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

Our Ultifi Services Product Operations team works with all SW teams in Software Defined Vehicle. These teams work in the Linux ecosystem, building in-vehicle software, to implement a scalable Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) platform, functional vehicle services and Apps. Linux / Android based system level services development for features like IPC communication, vehicle to Cloud communications, video processing, security implementation, diagnostics, debugging and logging, all within the Electronic Control Systems (ECU) of vehicle like Infotainment ECU. Ultifi SW teams design and develop the all the vehicle intelligence within the vehicle across all vehicle functions. These services will also utilize the 5G / MEC infrastructure and the Cloud. We build high quality Ultifi services software which is foundational to move General Motors towards an industry first intelligent and responsive Software Defined Vehicle. As a Product Operations Associate you may perform duties of a product manager or product owner or a release train engineer.


  • Partner with product marketing, other engineering teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop a vision/strategy/roadmap for SDV SW Products

  • Display leadership, organizational, and execution skills that lead to the development of SW products for SDV

  • Own planning and end-to-end execution of features/user stories/backlog working with business and engineering teams

  • Translate vehicle customer value statements into priorities and requirements for SDV platform and SDV / Ultifi vehicle services, SDV Apps across the vehicle, Edge (5G/MEC) and

  • Foster design thinking within the Partnerships analytics organization, through workshops, design sprints, and ideation exercises

  • Facilitate program increment planning including facilitation of planning readiness through the preparation of planning materials (vision, roadmap, backlogs), event scheduling and event management

  • Aggregate product team level objectives into release train level objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency

  • Broadly communicate release commitments post planning sessions

Additional Description

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, product development, operations, release management

  • Background in technical program management, product management, product development, product release or relevant experience

  • Proficient technical capabilities and familiarity with various vehicle, telecommunications and messaging / events-based Software platforms

  • Demonstrated experience forming partnerships with cross-functional partners across multiple disciplines ranging from Sales to Product & Engineering

  • Experience working in large, preferably global, software organizations, working across multiple locations with multiple software directors and managers and teams to deliver software releases to market

  • Strong communication and solution-oriented, with the ability to explain complex organizational or technical problems clearly and concisely

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to navigate complex corporate environments and influence stakeholders and partners

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in technical program management, product management, consulting, product development, product release or relevant experience

  • Proficient technical capabilities and familiarity with various data platforms

  • Demonstrated experience forming partnerships with cross-functional partners across multiple disciplines ranging from Sales to Product & Engineering
