Software Project Manager


Job Responsibilities include:

  • Lead activities relating to VCU software development aspects including architecture, feature specification, design, development, and test plan reviews, to ensure product is developed and launched on time with quality
  • Integrate product and software validation schedules utilizing proven issues tracking and resolution methods including 5-Phase, 5-Why and Fishbone routines.
  • Lead resolution of technical issues and report program achievement and alignment regularly to Product Development and Validation senior management.
  • Align and coordinate global Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers of hardware and software to execute deliverables to program achievement milestones.
  • Work as one team with suppliers, hardware, software, validation, IT, and others
  • Support engineering changes with Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) and Technical Review Board (TRB) leaders and supplier
  • Align and correlate vehicle programs rollout planning
  • Track and resolve launch issues with related teams
  • Work to remove development and implementation roadblocks

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in developing and/or releasing SW for electronic modules
  • Solid working knowledge of current infotainment technologies, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Projection, and application development
  • Ability to adjust to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Additional Description

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in developing and releasing SW of electronic modules
  • Proficient in vehicle data communication systems (CAN, LVDS, LIN, ETHERNET)
  • Operating systems experience with QNX, Linux or Android
  • Knowledge of diagnostic test tools, vehicle bus architectures & standards, OBD-II, SAE J1979, AUTOSAR, vehicle power modes
