Software Test Engineer


"This is a Hybrid position within our IT Organization. The role will allow employees to work offsite but will also require onsite work based on business needs. The selected candidate will be expected to commute to the innovation center to which they are assigned as their primary GM facility. Relocation may be provided."

The Software Test Engineer position in GPSC will perform ambiguity reviews of business and software requirements, execute tests, log defects, and report test metrics and test status to the project teams. This role requires a deep experience in software test strategy, creation of test process results, test metric definition and industry standard report definition.

  • You will work closely with architects, business analysts, developers and project managers to assist teams through task management for the successful and on time delivery of projects with the highest quality as possible
  • You may lead projects and have interaction with managers, leads and peers to share information and clarify instructions
  • Another responsibility within this role will be building test plans using standard templates defined by the organization
  • Works with expert test leads to assist in test strategy and process improvements
  • Builds manual test cases and automated test scripts. Logs, tracks and verifies resolutions of requirements and software defects
  • Review test plans written by others and provide feedback/assistance
  • Ability to handle work across multiple projects and ability to lead all testing activities on a project
  • Holds themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GMs values and cultural behaviors
  • Models GM behaviors and builds a winning culture
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

In this role the Software Tester must be proficient in the following:

  • Evaluate and produce test and project metrics
  • Clear understanding and experience with blocking testing
  • Builds Test Execution plans
  • Categorizes and manages test suites
  • Innovates the testing process using tools, techniques, process tweaks
  • Analyzes and reviews business and system requirements
  • Derives and produces test estimates
  • Carries out manual and automated tests
  • Tracks progress to plan. Logs defects
  • Conducts defect triage
  • Becomes an SME of the system and business process domain

Additional Description

Minimum Required Qualification

  • A minimum bachelor's degree in a technical field, preferably in MIS or CS
  • 5+ years of overall Test experience
  • Experience of test automation using Selenium, functional test case creation and execution
  • Java for UI & API applications - Has deep experience of software test strategy, test case management and software quality reporting. Functional and automation testing on API applications will be added advantage
  • Proven ability to drive teams through all aspects of software quality (functional, non- functional, automation)
  • Knowledge of test management using Azure DevOps
  • Enterprise level IT experience in a lead role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 5 years of testing eCommerce or Retail platforms
  • Experience using modern test frameworks such as Jasmine, Karma and JavaScript frameworks

**This position is only available in our Austin, TX  and Chandler AZ Innovation Centers.
