Sr. Business Analyst- Supply Chain


Hybrid:  This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively.  The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be onsite  1-3 times per week .

Job Summary:

As a Senior Business Analyst, within the Global Supply Chain and Purchasing (GPSC) IT Organization, you will work side-by-side with business process owners and key collaborators to see opportunities and elicit business requirements. To be successful, you must be customer focused, able to clearly define and communicate business needs, personally driven to improve the GM business processes, and excel at working within project teams to accomplish common objectives.

The Senior Business Analyst will support Order Productionization, Order Management, Sequencing, and Translation within the Order Fulfillment Business Technology team.  These capabilities are critical and span beyond Order Fulfillment.  Selected candidate will perform a critical role utilizing a team-based approach to defining integrated solutions. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and personal development, including ongoing training and development in SLDC and the latest delivery techniques

  • Perform as the segment lead in optimally delivering solutions following SDLC methodologies available at GM (including Agile)

  • Oversee collaboration with other team members on the design, development, testing, and deployment of solutions.

  • Ensure the solution has a comprehensive testing approach and validation of end-to-end processes, guiding and working collaboratively with Quality Assurance teams

  • Lead and support the introduction of new solutions to business customers as well as transitioning stable solutions to the sustain operations organization.

  • Proactively seek opportunities to align solutions into a single, integrated solution architecture

  • Seek opportunities related to the solution portfolio that might benefit your business partners

  • Develop full grasp of the functional aspects of the supported applications including standard processes, bolt-on and customized solutions (including interfaces) across the order fulfillment eco system.

Additional Description


  • Domain experience in supply chain, specifically with demand forecasting, order validation, scheduling, order sequencing, order prioritization and slotting, and data integrations.  

  • Experience with Order Fulfillment solutions

  • Experience running requirement gathering workshops and using requirements tools

  • Experience with software development teams and projects

  • Ability to prioritize and lead discussions across disciplines to proactively tackle problems

  • Ability to train, delegate, and mentor team members.

  • Structured and analytical thought process and approach to problem solving

  • Bachelor's degree required (technical subject area preferred) or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or related

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification

  • Automotive industry, preferred.
