Systems Analyst

Description

Hybrid:  This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively.  The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

This role requires a strong proficiency with Linux server administration, troubleshooting, and database administration. A working knowledge of Windows server administration, DBA-related queries, and good communication skills. The DevOps engineer must be self-directed, a self-starter and professional in their interactions with others.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4-year College or higher degree preferably in computer science, software engineering, information systems, mathematics, data analytics or statistics or equivalent experience

  • At least 3+ years relevant work experience

  • Experience with multiple OS (Primarily Oracle Enterprise and Ubutu with some Windows)

  • Proficiency with Linux server administration, application software troubleshooting and resolution

  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) delivering production components in a business-critical software environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) delivering production components in a business-critical software environment

  • Adaptable/flexible -- enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction

  • Working knowledge of WebLogic administration, source control software (ADO, SVN, Git or TFS), CI/CD Technologies / Best Practices (Artifactory, Black Duck, Chef, CARA, SonarQube and Jenkins, Build pipelines, GitFlow, etc )

  • Some experience with cloud platforms such as PCF, WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST), SQL/Oracle

  • Ability to clearly communicate with peers, business analysts, and subject matter experts

  • Some experience creating and running JUnit Tests, web technologies, monitoring tools (SiteScope and OEM)
