Description

This is a Hybrid Position which does not require you to be on-site full-time. This role enables you to work at a GM facility as required and off-site as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the enterprise level consolidation of software development and subsystem performance objectives to establish enterprise silicon requirements roadmap.
  • Network with industry leaders and ecosystem partners to align leading-edge technologies to target silicon architecture, assuring GM’s market competitive advantage.  Serve as enterprise subject matter expert for GPU/NPU/CPU, machine learning and memory architecture trends across competition and industry.
  • Define silicon microarchitecture including IP selection, interface and packaging requirements, target die size, power/performance requirements, physical design objectives.  Conduct tradeoff analyses to ensure scalable solution set which meets requirements is defined and communicated to execution team.  This includes core, accelerator, power/performance, memory, safety, cybersecurity strategies.
  • Establish chip level verification requirements and guide technical staff on PCB design and performance evaluation software development
  • Lead partnership establishment with IP vendors and design partners to enable execution of leading-edge designs
  • Collaborate closely with corporate development team to develop business case driven enterprise investment strategies to manage technology and systemic production gaps.
  • Lead communications with senior executives to establish consensus on strategic partnership and investment plans.
  • Lead our company’s technical talent capability development strategy across related functions.  Identify capability development opportunities and collaborate with department director and Engineering Group Leaders to recruit component design, application, and manufacturing process level technical expertise.
  • Lead component level technical specialists in development of semiconductor design standard work, ensuring process, supplier development & requirements documentation quality alignment across the semiconductor engineering space.

Additional Description

Qualifications – Required

  • MS in Electrical, Computer, Chemical Engineering or Computer Science
  • 10+ years experience in silicon design and fabrication including architecture definition, IP design and configuration, digital, analog, analysis and verification, wafer fabrication, semiconductor qualification, and performance evaluation
  • Strong experience with one or more of the following computing technologies: x86, ARM, ISP technologies, GPU/NPU for artificial intelligence applications
  • Exceptional collaboration skillset; demonstrated exceptional ability for working across functional and organizational boundaries
  • Proven exceptional industry engagement & network development experience
  • Proven exceptional supplier partnership and technical capability development including major computing and communications chipset vendors and fabs, strong knowledge of industry trends and silicon roadmaps

Qualifications – Preferred

  • Direct technical people leader and skillset development experience
  • Relevant Awarded Patent(s) and/or Publication(s)
