WMS Process Analyst

Description

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively.  The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

- This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week, and will require domestic travel to support the WMS deployments across the CCA Network.  

The WMS Process Analysts will play a significant and crucial role in the deployment of the WMS across the North America CCA Network. This WMS Deployment Organization is the sole owner for delivering deployments of the new WMS. As Process analysts, you will will work hand in hand with our IT partners, warehousing team members, and other supporting functions to ensure deployments are delivered on time without defects per the WMS Roadmap.

Each deployment project will consist of numerous phases that include: Initiate, Plan, Execute, Supervise and Close. Each phase has major project landmarks that will be completed to ensure a successful deployment. Each delivery has defined KPIs with full alignment of the reimagination of the CCA network. WMS Process Analysts will coordinate problem and incident management as the application reaches the implementation phase. Post implementation, our teams own the identification and implementation of bold efficiency and cost reduction targets, with the support of the business.

  • Responsibilities:

    • Work with the warehouse operations to define and deploy our new Warehouse Management System (WMS).

    • Define use case stories for all processes and then execute user acceptance testing

    • Develop standardized operating procedures for end users

    • Participate in workshops to optimize the use of the software application

    • Become the subject matter expert on the system and process for specified functions (i.e. Receiving, Shipping, Reporting)

    • Influence and define process improvements by understanding the current ‘As Is’ state to map future state

    • Support continuous improvement efforts by working cross functionally with the IT and Business team

    • Fosters open, inclusive culture that supports learning and encourages collaboration

    • Implement system improvements, support testing and production support

FOR GM INTERNAL CANDIDATES:  This role is posted at both the 7 and 6 level. The determination by HR and the Hiring Manager as to whether an offer will be lateral or promotional will be based on a candidate´s relevant experience and whether the role will amount to a significant increase in level of responsibility.


Additional Description

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Warehousing & Distribution

  • Prior experience using analytical applications such as power BI

  • Prior experience using warehouse management systems

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) across organizations

  • Ability to prepare and present material to leadership effectively

  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual, difficult, or complex

  • Ability to lead problem solving activities and manage resolution targets

  • Anticipates business needs and is comfortable dealing with ambiguity

  • Ability to collaborate within a global & cross-functional team to leverage resources and knowledge

  • Proficient computer skills –MS Suite/Excel/Access (required), IMS

  • In-depth business knowledge of GMS lean principles

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, and creativity.

  • Responsive and understanding of business issues and data challenges in Aftersales and IT Systems

  • Travel up to 30% to Metro Detroit and our PDC locations across the US.
