Work Arrangement:
Onsite: This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis.
The Role:
The Cold Weather Development Test Engineer Co-Op is the link between the customer, and the engineers in General Motors Canada's pre-production vehicle validation program. You will work directly with test drivers and mechanics to investigate recurring symptoms and identify cause. Presentations are developed and reviewed with on-site Test Engineers and then sent to the appropriate off-site Development Engineers for resolution.
This is an outstanding opportunity because unlike other automotive co-op positions, you will be exposed to all facets from powertrain, to HVAC, to vehicle fit, and electronics! Also, unique to this position, you will have contact with multiple aspects of vehicle development from design through to product release. This is a hands-on position that requires investigating and recreating issues in the field. As our winter test season is limited, every potential issue in the test fleet must be documented for resolution before the colder weather ends.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Ensure safety is the top priority in all activities!
-
Work under the general mentorship of senior engineers to understand how to validate the product while learning the entire vehicle development lifecycle
-
