-Establish bench-strength by recruiting, training and developing engineers to meet business objectives, while ensuring diversity & inclusion.

-Drive safety culture adhering to GM Global Workplace Safety Systems.

-Participate in strategic 3–5-year planning, develop the team from both organizational & technical perspective.

-Work with leadership to set and drive yearly business objectives. Set individual employee and group priorities, and regularly review and approve team members work.

-Ensure team’s deliverables are executed on time and leadership is appraised of status and any issues.

-Champion continuous improvement activities by utilizing feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to reduce waste and increase productivity.

-Establish performance goals for the team, conduct reviews, coach/mentor team members and provide candid/constructive feedback to raise team performance.

-Manage team workload, assist in resource planning, forecast and track budgets.

-Seek out and review feedback from launch sites and plants supported by the team via local ME team members related to workshare tasks performed.

-Drive compliance to all GM policies and procedures.

-Provide assistance in analyzing and solving complex manufacturing problems.

-Stay abreast of new technology and competitive products.

-Work with technical community to develop technology roadmap solutions.

Additional Description

Knowledge

-Knowledge on automotive manufacturing processes, equipment, facilities, materials & operations.

-Knowledge on the use of CAD/CAE & other software tools related to Manufacturing Engineering (Preferred).

-Knowledge on collaboration, data management and analytic tools such as Sharepoint, Power BI etc.,

-Working knowledge of MS Office & MS Project.

Skills

-High level of interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience.

-Experience in dealing with internal and external customers effectively.

Abilities

-Ability to work with intercultural, multi-disciplinary & remote teams to achieve functional goals.

-Ability to organize, plan, prioritize and execute projects with a keen attention to details.

-Ability to effectively organize and lead meetings or workshops.

-Willingness to travel across regions for executing business strategy as needed.

Educational Qualifications

Masters or Bachelors in any Engineering discipline or equivalent.

Experience

10+ years in Automotive Manufacturing / ME Experience (OEM or Tier 1 Supplier)

Work Location

General Motors Technical Centre – Bengaluru (located in Whitefield)

Note: Candidates at level 6A and below will be eligible for one bonafide promotion and candidates at level 7C and above will be on lateral move.
