Remote:  This position does not require employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work off-site on a permanent basis with 25-30% travel.

The GM Energy Commercial Hardware Sales Manager will be responsible for early market development and sales for the GM commercial hardware including primarily BESS, but also EVSI, Hydrotec fuel cells and other solutions. This role involves close collaboration with the internal and external product groups, close coordination with the GM Energy Solutions team, and most importantly amazing performance selling to GM Energy C&I customers.

The Commercial Sales Manager will be a high-energy, creative thinker and experienced C&I sales person interested in advancing the cutting edge of the energy industry. They will:

  • Drive Commercial hardware sales across existing and new GM Energy C&I customers

  • Work closely with product managers to define the best commercial approach across relevant markets and business segments.

  • Interface with internal stakeholders such as Purchasing, Marketing, Strategy, Legal, and Privacy teams to align corporate processes to deliver the ideal customer experience

  • Develop channel relationships with local and global partners including solar companies, public utilities, other OEMs, etc.

  • Support development of optimal pricing and finance strategies around warranty, financing, and aftersales needs of the customer

Additional Description

Required Skills / Experience / Education:

  • Passion for closing deals and moving the dial

  • Experience selling BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and/or PV (Photovoltaic) hardware or projects

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills required to effectively collaborate, motivate, and facilitate others in group situations

  • Desire to work in a complex and evolving environment and to bring an innovation mindset

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Team player attitude internally and externally

  • Willing to travel 25-30% of the time

  • The expected base compensation for this role is $124,500 - $190,692 USD Annually
  • Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
