Insurance Insurance & Ancillary Business Manager

The key role and responsibility of this position will cover the key areas below:

  • Business plan and strategy setup

    Setup business plan and strategy of brand insurance and other product such as extended warranty.

    Develop financial business case of insurance business and identify the opportunity for long-term growth.

    Develop business plan and annual target with detailed KPI matrix support.

    Review insurance policy and analyze the impact to GMPI business.

    Establish the business process of insurance business for X-functional work internally and 3rd party cooperation externally.

    Manage the resource to ensure the insurance business operating in a cost-effective manner.

  • Insurance product and IT system development

    Develop the insurance product and package which is competitive and attractive to customers in different phases along with business growth, as well as the extended warranty business.

    Review the effectiveness of product by its market performance on regular based, and adjust the product when necessary to reflect the industry change and customer needs.

    Lead the development of IT solution (both for to B & to C) which is capable enough to support the insurance business.

    Work closely with digital team to ensure a smooth progress of system go live.

    Improve the flexibility and capability of system continuously to service business better.

  • Insurance Business Operation

    Work with insurance company or brokers to manage the agreement of insurance arrangement.

    Work with GM internal X-functional team to align the key steps of insurance arrangements.

    Lead the monitoring and reporting on the collaboration progress and health of agreement with insurance company or brokers.

    Manage operations and productivity of brand insurance business to ensure the KPI achieved according to business plan.

    Maintain responsibility for performing all duties in compliance with related legal/statutory, regulations, professional standards, responsibilities, and obligations and insert as applicable.

    Analyze statistical data of operations such as pricing, penetration rate, claim rate, etc. to understand well the business status as well as the risk & opportunity.

    Support the development of training material and the conducting to the field team to support insurance business with customers.

    Ensure a quick response to any issue on field and coordinate resource to close the gap.

    Improve the performance of retail, such as the penetration rate of insurance renewal and product mix sold.

I.Knowledge Experience, and Competencies

Knowledge:

Broad Knowledge of automotive customer service.

Knowledge and experience of vehicle insurance product.

Knowledge and experience of business model of brand insurance from OEM perspective.

Knowledge and experience of cooperating with insurance company or brokers.

Knowledge and experience of IT system of insurance business, including to B and to C modules.

Knowledge and experience of hands-on daily operation.

Skills:

Presentation skills

         Experience/Education:

Bachelor’s degree or above.

8+ years’ experience of vehicle insurance business.

5+ years’ experience of cooperating with insurance company or brokers.

5+ years’ experience of insurance business operation.

5+ years’ experience of insurance product development and management.

Experience of digitalization is preferred.

Experience of working with JV is preferred.

Experience of premium brand is preferred.

          Competencies:

Proficient in English listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Have a strong affinity, interpersonal communication and coordination skills and a sense of teamwork

Strong capability to handle data calculation and analysis

Familiar with Microsoft Office software

Strong ability to motivate people in an international environment
