Role

The role of the in-process electrical hardware execution supervisor exists to support the HW execution of all in-process electrical testers at each of GMNA manufacturing sites. Your work will involve complex manufacturing problems including the need to root cause equipment issues and find solutions.  You will be responsible for the design/procurement/buyoff/install and trouble of test equipment.  This support Is critical for the manufacturing operations.  Your responsibility may involve training plant teams and tech support personnel along with assigning work to a small group of employees.  The individual will travel up to 50% to sites deploying these testers.  They will foster continuous improvement and collaborate with cross-functional teams from IT, ME, and PE to enhance our capability to deliver high-quality tester efficiently.  This position drives adherence to best practices, trains regional teams, and ensures seamless execution of test products, ultimately shaping our manufacturing landscape and maintaining our competitive edge. 

The in-process electrical hardware execution supervisor makes a significant impact by ensuring our plant's in-process electrical content is assembled correctly defect-free through early testing.  End of Line testing is important but often is too late for detection.  The supervisor will cover the Low Cost Continuity Testers, in process testers (body/trim/IP), and charge port testers.  This hardware needs to be innovative, efficient, and allow our plants to produce high-quality products without impacting Direct Run Rate and electrical float.  It defines and maintains process sequences and key dependencies to ensure operational consistency and reliability, reducing errors and increasing productivity. Proactively addressing field quality and safety issues minimizes downtime and potential recalls, protecting the company's reputation and customer satisfaction.  Additionally, conducting training classes for plant teams and supporting the execution of manufacturing processes ensures global adherence to best practices, leading to standardized, high-quality outputs. Overall, this role directly contributes to the company's operational excellence, strategic growth, and ability to deliver exceptional products, making it a cornerstone of the company's success and sustainability. 

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Drive In-Process Test Strategy that reduces Electrical First Time Quality (eFTQ) mainline tester locations. 

  • Support innovation for future version of testers to reduce MCPU. 

  • Benchmark electrical processing tools and equipment solutions internal and external for innovation and improvements. 

  • Support and mentor Execution Zone Engineers and Plant Electrical Coordinators for In-Process Test execution. 

  • Perform in-plant and remote troubleshooting of equipment issues, as required. 

  • Closely coordinate with software team to prepare for new products and standards creation. 

  • Update and maintain standardized work and training related to Electrical Processing Tools and Equipment. 

  • Maintain tool and equipment read across for tracking BOE compliance and recommending updates when required. 

  • Work closely with Tester Suppliers to continuously improve equipment design development, build and validation requirements. 

  • Implement continuous improvement ideas generated by plant teams. 

  • Support Integration Architect with tool and/or processing solutions for electrical RPLS risk reduction. 

  • Work with CME and Processing Teams for BOP updates for Electrical Processing Tools and Equipment. 

  • Support development of Product Manufacturing Requirements for Electrical Processing Tools and Equipment.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience working with Assembly Plants and manufacturing processes

  • Tooling Procurement and Installation experience

  • Electrical Component Knowledge or background

  • Ability to travel greater than 50% across North America.
