Work Arrangement:

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Global Technical Center in Warren three times per week, at minimum.

The Team:

The goal of the Enterprise Innovation team is to foster innovation across the GM ecosystem, collaborate with cross-functional teams and grow new value propositions. 

What You’ll Do:  

As an Enterprise Innovation Intern on the Concept Incubation Team, you will be instrumental in enhancing various innovation platforms and engagement tools. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Seek improvements across platforms such as the Startup Center of Excellence site, idea intake platform, early funnel project tracker, and Innovation Challenge intake.

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand both host and customer needs.

  • Assess and prioritize needs based on effort versus return.

  • Define success metrics for changes and improvements, ensuring they are trackable.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

As an Enterprise Innovation Intern on the Concept Incubation Team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our innovation platforms and engagement tools. Your contributions will include:

  • Platform Enhancements : Drive improvements across key platforms such as the Startup Center of Excellence site, idea intake platform, early funnel project tracker, and Innovation Challenge intake.

  • Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and address both host and customer needs effectively.

  • Needs Assessment : Evaluate and prioritize needs based on effort versus return to ensure impactful outcomes.

  • Success Metrics : Define and track success metrics for all changes and improvements, ensuring measurable progress.

Required Qualifications:     

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Business Administration, Strategy, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, or Management / Leadership

  • Must be graduating between May 2026 - December 2027

  • Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week

Start dates for this internship role are May of 2025.

Compensation:

  • The salary range for this role is $4,100-$4,400, dependent upon class status and degree.

  • GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend payment to eligible students selected for the 2025 Student Program.
