GM Defense is growing and exciting addition to the GM line of products and is looking to staff a Material Floor Coordinator position for Supply Chain in Concord, NC. As a member of the Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for support in one of the key areas: manufacturing/warehouse operations, supply chain systems and processes, launch execution and scheduling and material management. You will act as a liaison between purchasing, engineering, warehousing/manufacturing, logistics and suppliers to resolve issues and to provide support.
Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the GM Defense Production Facility on a full-time basis (shift is four (4) 10's, Monday-Thursday)
Role Responsibilities: This position will be responsible to lead GM Defense’s Sustainment activity related to part supply to support GM Defense contracts. This position will directly be responsible to plan and execute the following:

Develop, train, implement, and audit work instructions to successfully meet customer demand requirements integrated with GM Defense Inventory Management System at Concord, NC operations site

Coordinate with 3rd Party Vendors in the areas of warehousing, packaging, and logistics related to sustainment part needs

Provide the sustainment part process requirements into the overall GM Defense Supply Chain to identify synergies with production supply within GM Defense, as well as leveraging GM’s commercial program/products

Lead a small team responsible for:

Process receipt of customer sustainment orders
-
Prepare orders for shipping
-
Create backfill orders to replenish material inventory

Participate in overall Material Management Process as it relates to FAR/DFAR requirements within program contracts

Provide input in business capture activities related to sustainment part supply deliverables

May need to lift or carry materials weighing up to 40 lbs. depending on department
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
-
Business, Global Supply Chain, or Manufacturing Operations preferred or equivalent training/experience
-
5+ years of relevant work experiences
-
Experience in leading a customer facing team dealing with service/sustainment operations
-
Understanding of aftersales part supply processes related to government programs
-
Ability to define processes within a lean organization, while leveraging other centers or expertise
-
Passion for understanding the customer needs and delivering an exceptional product
-
Comfort learning new tools and technology concepts quickly
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and demanding time frames
-
This position requires either a U.S. Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization(s)

Role may require DoD Secret Security Clearance
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

Experience with Department of Defense/Department of State

Solid understanding of GM Supply Chain in vehicle operations (min 1-3 years)

Government contracting or government procurement experience
