Key Objective :

 Serve as a transaction manager supporting business in timely payments to our suppliers and customers, ensuring compliances with accounting standards, audit/Non-SOX compliance and financial analyses, and reinforce financial integrity and accountability.

Expertize:

  • Ensure correct and transparent recording of all business transactions in the relevant period
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data
  • Implement and ensure appropriate financial and internal controls in compliance with company policies and procedures or as deemed appropriate by senior leadership team
  • Ensure timely payment of vendors and customers in the region as per GM Policies & processes
  • Manage Capital projects and ensure correct & accurate fixed assets accounting in compliance with GM Policies. Have a sound knowledge of asset master and related accounting in SAP
  • Review and approve MJEs, account reconciliations on monthly basis
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge and working experience in the area supervised. Has broad knowledge of related areas and demonstrates good business acumen.
  • Drive process improvements in assigned areas of responsibility
  • Works independently on driving team results, determines resources to complete team assignments. Receives general management guidance.
  • Provide tax team in providing financial information for tax audits in Egypt
  •  Enhances relationships and networks with internal/external stakeholders and addressing objections and or concerns if any.
  • Effectively communicates and presents recommendations and results across several job areas.

People Management

  • Leads by example, taking responsibility for their own actions, acknowledging mistakes, and holding themselves accountable for achieving goals. Addresses and evaluates a diverse range of issues using innovative methods and proposing alternative approaches.
  • Responsibility for ensuring that the direct reports are developed professionally
  • Oversees the on-the-job and off-the job training needs of all direct reports

Basic Skills, Knowledge, Behaviors:

  • Comprehend, interpret and present to others the financial results, variance analysis of financial results and account reconciliations.
  • Address issues by identifying appropriate alternatives for timely resolution, and identify issues that require escalation.
  • Assess needs and then develop, implement and monitor procedural improvements surrounding the accounting process relating to costs, inventory, warranties, claims and sales allowances.
  • Interpret and operationalize applicable accounting policies and procedures.
  • Prepare written communications in a clear and concise manner.
  • Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Demonstrates qualities (e.g., ethics, integrity, expertise) that establish credibility with all internal and external constituents.
  • Manage the process of planning and organizing resources (e.g., people, funds) appropriately to accomplish desired goals.
  • Comfortable in making verbal/structured presentations to senior leadership

GM Specific Skills, Knowledge, Behaviors

  • Proficient understanding of SAP & HFM system functionality.
  • Understanding of GM’s management, legal, and segment organizational structures and how they are consolidated.
  • Understanding of GM’s chart of accounts and HFM accounts, and how they impact the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement.

Skills:

  • Writing – English
  • Speaking – English

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 3 -5 years of working experience in Accounting/Payable/Receivable function/ management accounting, also experience with ~2 years at supervisory level
  •  Big 4 audit firm or US publicly listed company experience if any (Preferrable)

Education:

  • Possesses at least a Bachelor Degree in Accounting and/ or Finance or related field
  • CPA or equivalent (Preferrable)
