Descrição
Hybrid. This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren or Milford Michigan three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
In this role, you will lead the design and integration of advanced RF wireless systems—including antennas for Cellular, Wi-Fi, GNSS, Bluetooth, and V2X—across next-generation vehicle platforms. You will manage the full development lifecycle from concept, simulation, prototyping to testing, validation, and final integration. Using industry-standard EM simulation tools such as HFSS, CST, and ADS, you’ll model and optimize system performance, while also conducting hands-on testing with VNAs, spectrum analyzers, anechoic chambers, and outdoor validation setups. You’ll collaborate across hardware, software, mechanical, and systems teams to ensure seamless connectivity performance that meets both technical and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you’ll provide technical leadership and mentorship, helping guide cross-functional teams toward innovation and excellence in wireless design.
Success in this role demands a hands-on expert with strong command over both physical RF development and virtual modeling using industry-standard EM simulation and validation tools. You will influence cross-functional engineering teams, shape platform-level design strategies, and set the standard for wireless excellence in connected vehicles. This is your opportunity to lead with vision and engineer with precision—advancing the future of mobility through groundbreaking RF system innovation.
What You'll Do
- Architect and define RF and wireless system solutions, including Cellular, GNSS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and DSRC/C-V2X technologies.
- Lead system design, integration, and validation for high-complexity wireless modules and platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, mechanical, and validation to deliver robust RF performance.
- Develop and manage antenna designs and PCB layouts with a focus on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and signal integrity.
- Conduct simulations and lab measurements (VNA, spectrum analyzers, anechoic chambers) to validate performance against system requirements.
- Support board-level EM simulations, layout reviews, and system testing for regulatory and performance compliance.
- Interface with suppliers and partners to align on wireless technology implementation and strategic sourcing.
- Contribute to innovation initiatives in automotive wireless communication, including V2X and 5G integration.
- Ensure documentation of design artifacts and maintain traceability throughout the development lifecycle.

- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in RF and wireless system design.
- Strong experience with antenna design, layout, and simulation (HFSS, CST, ADS, or similar tools) performing design and WCCA
- Proven experience with end-to-end product development and system-level integration of RF modules.
- Deep knowledge of EMC/EMI considerations in embedded RF systems.
- Familiarity with regulatory testing and certification processes (FCC, PTCRB, etc.).
- Experience with lab equipment including VNAs, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, and chamber testing.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills, with the ability to drive technical discussions and mentor junior engineers.
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience in the automotive domain, particularly vehicle connectivity and telematics systems.
- Prior involvement in the development of C-V2X, DSRC, or other vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technologies.
- Experience collaborating across global teams and supplier networks.
- Knowledge of embedded systems, firmware, and software-hardware co-design.
