Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Milford, MI on a full-time basis.

The Role

We are seeking a Performance and Specialty Vehicle Fabrication/Build Technician responsible for the fabrication, integration and mechanical/electrical support of best-in-class Specialty Show Vehicle, Pace Car and Performance Engineering builds.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 10+ years automotive technician and fabrication experience.

  • 5+ years of experience with machine shop fabrication equipment, welding, one-off/prototype vehicle build, and vehicle mechanical/electrical.

  • Technical course work, training, professional certifications, Journeyman status or relevant experience required for candidates without a degree beyond high school.

  • Strong mechanical and automotive skills.

  • Welding including MIG and TIG with both aluminum and steel.

  • Sheet metal fabrication.

  • Proficient with manual machining.

  • Skilled in the operation of shop fabrication equipment (band saw, lathes, mills, press brakes).

  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues during vehicle builds.

  • Ability to read complex engineering drawings.

  • Creative in solving project issues.

  • Demonstrated capability in leading projects, utilizing other technicians in support of achieving deliverables.

  • Ability to address multiple projects and achieve results with little or no supervision.

  • Problem solving and ability to perform root cause analysis.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with engineers, managers, and peers.

  • Ability to work in teams and independently.

  • Exhibit a desire to learn new skills.

  • This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

  • Associate or Bachelors degree in a related field.
