Descrição

Workplace Classification:

Hybrid: This means the successful candidate is expected to report to their primary location (Milford, MI) three times per week, at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.

The Role:

Work life balance, flexibility and your happiness are important to us!

Welcome to the new era of ELECTRIFICATION !

Our vision is a world with ZERO Crashes, ZERO Emissions and ZERO Congestion.  We embrace the responsibility to lead the change that will make our world better, safer, and more equitable for all.  We are going to ELECTRIFY the WORLD with exciting new electric vehicles and much more!

Are you passionate about coding and take pride in the excellence of the software you develop?

Do you enjoy making data-driven decisions and engaging with cutting-edge technologies?

Do you have an innovative mindset and a desire to create high-quality embedded products?

Consider joining our GM family of Software Engineers in VMEC (Vehicle Mechatronic Embedded Controls).

The VMEC team consists of inclusive and diverse agile groups, ensuring that everyone has a voice in discussions.  Our software development process transforms customer requirements into designs, generates code, conducts testing, and integrates our solutions into reality.  The software developed by our team is featured in every GM electric vehicle currently available, including the recently launched electric Cadillac Escalade IQ and the GMC Sierra EV, among others.  You can work alongside a team that directly influences the rapidly expanding electric vehicle portfolio and contribute to bringing our vision to life.

We are specifically seeking to hire for the software responsible for High Voltage Battery State Estimation.  This area focuses on implementing algorithms that monitor the battery's state of health, including battery pack capacity, limits, and state of charge based on cell chemistry.  The team also establishes voltage, current, and power limits for both charging and driving, while performing active cell balancing of the battery pack to enhance efficiency.  Furthermore, this team collaborates closely with R&D to facilitate the production of future features and integrate them into production software, as well as with calibration and testing teams to identify and resolve issues.

With the introduction of new battery cell chemistries, new challenges arise in the Battery State Estimation domain.  This role will primarily involve working with Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and Lithium and Manganese-Rich (LMR) chemistry-based battery cells.

Please review the Software Engineer role descriptions and required skillsets.  All skillsets are NOT required collectively.  Passion, ability to learn quickly, and interest in the products are important to us!
