Position summary

Responsible for definition, execution and evaluation of designs, analysis, development. Creating development, testing and validation plans/timelines and their execution while having much communication with suppliers and joint venture partner. Incorporate all safety elements for a robust hydrogen liner design.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads overall communication, coordination, and consultation with engineering departments and customers for responsible components
  • Establishes designs to meet program performance and timing requirements
  • Analyzes design through design failure modes effects analysis (DFMEA)
  • Plans and implements complex test and/or development programs
  • Demonstrates that designs meet requirements through analysis, development and validation processes
  • Releases final designs for manufacturing or purchase as appropriate
  • Defines hardware and budget requirements for experimental build programs
  • Ensures designs meet serviceability requirements
  • Leads product development team(s)
  • Support warranty issue resolution
  • Participates in work groups with interactive/interfacing hardware/software teams as required

  • Travel as required 

Required Skills and Experience

  • MS or BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Metallurgical and or Polymer Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience required
  • Experience in automotive system hardware engineering (development and/or release)
  • Experience working with suppliers
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Experience in problem solving
  • Have a passion for advance propulsion systems (i.e fuel cell)
  • Experience in pressure vessel technology
  • Experience with Carbon Fiber winding technology
  • Experience with polymer materials,  joining technology and manufacturing processes
  • MS or BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • Thorough knowledge of design development and test engineering, engineering processes and procedures
  • Highly developed oral and written communications skills
  • Japanese language skills is a plus

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Have a passion for advance propulsion systems (i.e fuel cell)
  • Experience in pressure vessel technology
  • Experience with Carbon Fiber winding technology
