Position summary

Responsibilities - Executive Support Global Product Development

  • Manage all day-to-day aspects of Executive Vice President's communications activities
  • Develop and shape external positioning, strategy and messaging
  • Plan and help execute all speaking, media and video engagements – proactive and reactive
  • Assess and manage multiple speaking and media requests for EVP
  • Develop and edit messaging, Q&A and briefing materials, speeches and other content to ensure it aligns with strategic pillars and messages
  • Support EVP at events; organize and attend all communications review meetings
  • Act as primary point of contact for external event planning, including conferences, speaking engagements, media and book interviews, philanthropic galas, motorsports activities, outside board commitments, and more
  • Act as primary point of contact with internal stakeholders, including executive assistant, business planner, brand and other communicators, university relations, motorsports teams, and more
  • Monitor EVP’s social media channels and work with social team on issues management and respond appropriately/consult GM social team
  • Re-purpose speeches and media coverage for internal channels
  • Work with internal communications and business planner to develop and edit All People Meeting and Senior Leader Meeting content
  • Work closely with team and key philanthropic organizations to influence and organize large-scale, community fundraising events chaired by EVP
  • Develop EVP meeting agendas and maintain executive calendars, keep the team running on time and on message
  • Anticipate, identify and raise issues and trends affecting product development
  • Responsibilities – Community Outreach: Corporate Giving
  • Lead communicator for GM Community Outreach and GM Student Corps
  • Develop comprehensive Community Outreach business and communications strategy aligned with corporate giving, brand and company pillars
  • Launch GM Student Corps externally and internally; serve on cross-functional Steering Committee to develop program
  • Lead all storytelling and content development, including press releases, social media, presentations, video series, infographics, internal storytelling, messaging
  • Lead media and social outreach strategy and execution
  • Lead teams in large-scale event planning, including media announcements
  • Provide ongoing media and presentation counsel to staff 
  • Oversee execution of external and internal communications plans for Student Corps


Required skills/experience:

  • Demonstrated written, verbal and storytelling ability
  • Strong business acumen
  • Keen news sense and media knowledge
  • Culturally savvy with ability to manage sensitive information and varied stakeholder needs
  • Build and maintain strong relationships and effectively counsel leaders
  • Ability to manage expectations and heavy demands on executive calendars
  • Lead event and show production
  • Effectively communicate across functions and levels
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to lead project teams, able to lead multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated collaboration and team work
  • 5+ years related experience
