Position summary

Manager, Chevrolet Marketing & Executive Communications

This is a dynamic, fast-paced position with the fastest growing, full-line brand in the automotive industry today. In this role, the manager will plan, develop and execute activities to promote the growing Chevrolet marketing/sponsorship activities and be a key contact for top Chevy Leadership. This position requires a manager who is creative, customer focused, results driven and has strong relationships with peers and media. The manager will work daily with marketing, communications teams and leadership to continue Chevrolet’s brand momentum.

Overview:

  • Communications lead with Global Chief Marketing Officer and VP of US Chevy Marketing
  • Number and level of execs supported (4) (Pres. NA, Global CMO, VP Chevy, VP Chevy Mkt)
  • Scope of work includes external media relations for Chevy marketing/sponsorships and Chevy leadership external communications
  • Span of control includes coordination with North American President, Chief Global and US Marketing leadership, sponsorship teams
  • Lead Agency partner (Weber Shandwick) on activities related to multiple unique marketing and promotions activations

Responsibilities:
  • Manage PR activities for Chevrolet Marketing and Executive Communications including:
  • Maintain three-year strategic communication plan for promotional activations including: Red Wings Hockey, Country Music Awards, Major League Baseball and NASCAR
  • Plan and activate relevant earned media around marketing campaigns and partnerships like Find New Roads
  • Work with Chevy Communications, Chevy Marketing teams and Story Bureau resources to create opportunities and ideas to drive extensive stories with various media including automotive, business, advertising, social and lifestyle 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with marketing and agency partners to best advise on potential issues and identify story telling opportunities
  • Represent Communications by actively participating in regular global CMO and US marketing meetings
  • Work with regional teams and Regional Directors to help elevate key opportunities and partnerships for earned coverage in the regions
  • Identify stories and program opportunities to increase brand exposure to new audiences
  • Manage and fulfill media requests related to Chevrolet marketing, promotions and events
  • Manage budget for media activities
  • Be key point of contact for Chevy Executive Leadership
  • Develop strategic plan for Chevy leadership including media interviews speaking engagements and support them during activations
  • Work with internal communications team on executive requests
  • Travel required, approximately 1/3 of the time
