Responsible for overall planning and direction of all Plant Engineering / Floor support activities in accordance with local, divisional, and corporate goals, objectives, and policies
Responsible for day-to-day Central Engineering maintenance activities required to support production such as building and facility maintenance, infrastructure maintenance, and utility systems maintenance
Responsible for proper maintenance and performance of equipment
Coordinates implementation of plant facilities projects with area managers and area maintenance and zone supervisors, including facility replacement, operations improvements, and periodic repair and replacement. Provides input on plant facilities projects to Manufacturing Engineering superintendent’s office
Interfaces with all outside equipment suppliers and contractors as required to assure that all requirements are being met. Develop strategic relationships with key suppliers
Provides technical support to the production organization
Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations
Communicates and coordinates between Production Departments, departmental Manufacturing Engineering organizations, and the Manufacturing Engineering office to implement best practices, resolve problems, and sustain consistent performance to objectives
Leads, develops, implements, and maintains planned maintenance activities for facilities and plant-wide systems
Responsible for administration SA partner for mobile equipment fleet. Includes fleet size management as well as all mobile equipment repair activities.
Responsible for administration of SA partner in their efforts for total facility housekeeping – cleaning, trash removal, cardboard management, paint industrial cleaning, dispatch and recycling activities.
Ensures the implementation of CMMS systems into related Plant Engineering - Floor activities
Optimizes all resources by utilizing statistical methods and data to produce best-in-class quality products (includes Voice of Customer and Voice of Process)
Develop and maintain monthly scorecard tracking process for quality control of SA partner as it relates to execution of their scope.
Involved in multiple GMS Basketweave teams.
Facilitates weekly, monthly reviews of Facilities Level 3, 4/5 BPD boards
Promotes safe work practices as the highest priority and implements objectives for ergonomics, health/safety and housekeeping
Completes all performance reviews for all salaried employees in his or her staff
Builds and maintains good working relationships and integrity with employees, union, management and supplier community
Provides for understanding and consistent administration of national and local agreements and serves as a member in the local negotiations process
Manages team of FME’s, FMR’s and powerhouse personnel direct reports.
Helps to maintain master manpower charts for skilled trades
