Position summary

Key job elements:

  • Generate new concept of vehicle-based control systems and technologies; develop, implement, and evaluate in the vehicle
  • Integrate in-vehicle control system with analysis, simulation and control rapid-prototyping
  • Work as an independent yet integral member of a team to develop and implement innovative and creative solutions to vehicle control applications
  • Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge
  • Develop requirements, criteria, and evaluation methods for vehicle-based control technologies
  • Code and debug vehicle-based embedded systems for control applications
  • Plan and carry out complex technical projects in a timely manner

Required

  • Significant expertise in control theory and optimization
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics, vehicle state and motion estimation
  • Experience in system modeling and identification, and computer simulation
  • Experience in system integration (communication protocol, sensor/actuator interfaces, actuator control, and control algorithm integration)
  • Experience in electromechanical component modeling and control
  • Experience in CarSim or other vehicle simulation software
  • Knowledge of dSpace or other rapid prototyping hardware/software
  • Knowledge of C/C++/Matlab Simulink/State Flow
  • PhD with 3+ years working experience, or MS with 6+ year working experience, in electrical/mechanical/aerospace/automotive engineering with demonstrated capability in Controls and Dynamics
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

 

Preferred

  • Experience in control applications to automated driving
  • Experience in hardware-in-the-loop instrumentation and experiments
  • Understanding of computer architecture and hardware interfacing
  • Strong embedded system experience
  • Knowledge and experience in Machine Learning with relevant applications.
