Position summary

Subsystem Validation Engineers are responsible for full subsystem validation on the production release of software. The issues are documented and then software releases are iterated until all the issues are corrected.  Subsystem Validation Engineers are intended to perform testing earlier in product development cycle (Pre-IVER) to identify issues sooner, improve the quality of the IVER and 65% ride vehicles, and decrease the number of software releases leading up to production. The work involves planning, executing and documenting the results from this validation.
  • Work within a team to coordinate validation efforts for multiple features relating to responsible system.
  • Perform integration bench & vehicle level testing
  • Create, manage and execute test plans
  • Develop test methods and models to be able to test integration with new safety critical components and features
  • Automate test scripts and work with HIL setups to execute test procedures in a closed loop model environment
  • Capture and analyze data to troubleshoot issues
  • Generate and release testing reports (CG190)
  • Provide interface for team to other departments and suppliers
  • Develop and lead test methods
  • Travel (minimal) as required
  • Coordinate with test engineers at Milford Proving Grounds

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • High level of organizational skills - Able to manage multiple projects across multiple programs.
  • Able to work within a team of engineers and communicate issues and testing results effectively
  • Ability to act as a single voice for bench level testing for assigned subsystems
  • Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanisms
  • Knowledge of and experience with GMLAN or CAN based communication
  • High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others
  • Knowledge of safety critical software and systems
  • 5 or more years of experience in automotive subsystem testing
  • Proficient in the use of CAN tools (CaNoE, Vehicle Spy, etc)
  • This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis
