Manufacturing Engineer – Concentration on Brazing

Responsible for the design and/or testing of tooling and equipment and/or planning the manufacturing processes in the brazing arena. Work is of a technical nature where decisions are made within limits of general practices and procedures, but where supervision is available to handle unusual situations. Occasionally may assign work to small group of employees.

  • Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
  • Analyzes product designs for best method of manufacture and brazability
  • Proposes and evaluates the processes for equipment in assigned area
  • Directs the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing / brazing processes for an assigned area
  • Provides technical support for specific plant operations
  • Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions
  • Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise
  • Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities

Basic Required Skills

  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult  
  • Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals
  • Above average oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of tooling and manufacturing and brazing processes

Basic Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of computer software as it pertains to manufacturing and brazing
  • Unigraphics capabilities is a plus
  • Previous experience with equipment design, development and implementation, including Safety Risk Assessment

Education and Training

  • Bachelors degree with a major in mechanical engineering
